Jesus Challenges our Thinking – New Years Sermon Series

Now is the perfect time to change. It’s the beginning of the New Year at a time of new beginnings, of letting go of old habits and starting something better. But we will never change what we have come to accept or what we aren’t able to see and confront.

The Lord, through His Word, is drawing our attention to things that appear true or good in our minds but are not. Identifying what we have come to accept as true but isn’t is the fundamental work of our spiritual life so that we can choose to let go and start something new.

We all struggle in some way with clarity on what this thing called “Spiritual Work” is and what it looks like to practice it and grow in the Lord. Join us for the next 6 weeks. We will be looking at the reaction of the Scribes and Pharisees to the Lord’s teaching that contradicted their faith and rituals and what they thought the Kingdom of Heaven was. Through these contradictions, we can get insight into what might appear good and true to us but is not, so that we can see it and confront it.

Join us for this series as we make a journey of discovery into what appears to us as a Kingdom of Contradictions and accept the Lord’s challenge to reaccess how we see and think about life.
